KCR offers to resign if Congress proves its charge on irrigation accords

kcr-uttamTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has offered to resign if the opposition Congress proves that the accord on the Tammidihetty barrage is arrived at for construction of dam at 152 mt.

Addressing a huge gathering outside the Begumpet airport in Hyderabad he lambasted Congress for ‘spreading canards’ by giving false information. “I throw a challenge to Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC Chief. I will be here at Begumpet for another 30 minutes. If he has guts, he should come out with proof that agreement signed for construction of Tammidihatty dam near Kaleswaram. If he could produce evidence, I will not go home but go straight to Raj Bhavan and submit resignation” Mr Rao said.

You can’t divert our focus of developing a golden Telangana, he said.

The congress has been working against the interests of Telangana for decades, Mr Rao charged. “ For 40 years, you (Congress) ruled the state.. You helped the united AP rulers thwarting the development. But for yours and TDP’s misdeeds, the TRS would not have born. The separate state would not have formed. The GOs were issued in haste. The Pranahita project has born in 2008 but not moved even an inch since then..You have made all the efforts to ensure that the water flows down to Andhra region and helped it irrigate turning the Telangana a barren land. I am a tough guy.. My resolve is dogged.. you cannot subvert our plans through dirty games” Mr Rao castigated.

A massive rally was taken out from the airport with Mr Rao, minister T Harish Rao waving the crowds. Telangana has inked pacts with Maharashtra for construction of three dams at Medigadda, Tammidihatti and Chanaka across the river Godavari. The project was earlier named as Pranahitha-Chevella during YSR regime but the design was changed after the formation of Telangana state.
