Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao asked the L&T to realign the route of Metro Rail wherever it is passing by the ‘emotional attachment’ of the people. He ordered the construction firm to change the route towards rear of OU Women’s College in Koti to avoid Sultan Bazar.
A meeting with the leaders of Old City will be held on Nov-20 to rearrange the route to save 40 religious structures in the area.
Chief Minister displayed his anger on L&T for leaking the confidential communication between the company and the government. He said that the company leaked the documents or letters to the ‘selective media’ with pro-Seemandhra agenda.
In a meeting with Anil Manibhai Naik, the Group Executive Chairman, Larsen & Toubro, said, “Had we agreed for Telangana without Hyderabad, we would have achieved it long ago. Just because we did not compromise on Hyderabad, it took 14 years to achieve the state. Without knowing the historical significance and need of Telangana, your company made highly objectionable observations on Telangana and Hyderabad.”
Mr. Naik apologized over this and said that he has regrets for this. He said that the company is keen to work with the TS government now and in future.
