KCR will be seen at nine places in Karimnagar today. In a whirlwind election tour of the district, he will address meetings at ten places – Korutla, Dhramapuri, Jagtial, Choppadandi, Vemulawada, Manakondur, Huzurabad, Manthani, and Peddapalli, plus Dubbaka in Medak.
All the constituencies are very important for TRS as few of these places are part of Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency where Kavitha is contesting from, and Peddapalli seat which is also crucial because of MP Vivek’s presence there and a relatively inexperienced Balka Suman representing TRS there.
Korutla, Dharmapuri, Vemulawada, Huzurabad are sitting seats for TRS being represented by K Vidyasagar Rao, Koppula Eeshwar, Ch Rameshbabu and Eetela Rajender respectively.
Koppula Eeshwar might face some difficulty as area strongman from Congress J Ratnakar Rao’s son, Narsing Rao is contesting as a rebel candidate this time. Splitting of votes might have an impact on Eeshwar’s chances of a repeat win. CH Ramesh Babu of Vemulawada, son of CH Rajeshwar Rao drew a lot of flak as a non present representative of the constituency as he works in Germany. This might have an impact on his chances apart from the opposition of Bomma Venkateshwarlu, a well known Karimnagar based businessman-politician, who is also the present chairman of the Vemulawada temple committee. Korutla, Huzurabad for K Vidyasagar Rao and Eetela may not pose many difficulties.
Husnabad, Manakondur, Jagtial, Choppadandi will see debutant aspirants from TRS with Rasamayi Balkishan, V Satish Kumar, Dr. Sanjay, and Bodige Shobha respectively. Satish Kumar is the son of senior TRS leader Captain Lakshmikantha Rao which ensures him certain support base in Husnabad. Arepalli Mohan representing Congress in Manakondur, though a senior leader is facing anti incumbency which might help Rasamayi Balakishan. Rasamayi’s strong recognition as a T activist and entertainer will definitely add to his strength. Jagtial might be a tricky place for TRS’s Dr. Sanjay as two old timers, Jeevan Reddy from COngress and L Ramana from TDP are contesting from here. Coming from the minority Velama community also might play a role in Sanjay’s chances. Over all, He will bank heavily on the TRS wave to see him through. Bodige Shobha will have a tough time to score a first win as senior TDP leader Suddala Devaiah, who has represented the constituency several times, is contesting on a Congress ticket this time.
Putta Madhu is representing TRS from Manthani against the powerful Congress leader D Shridhar Babu. The contest can go any way. Putta Madhu was in YSRCP till recently, which might be a negative factor for him. Peddapalli assembly seat also looks equally poised for all three major candidates – sitting MLA Vijaya Ramana Rao from TDP, Dasari Manohar Reddy from TRS and Bhanu PRasad Rao, MLC from Congress.
Medak’s Dubbaka is in close proximity with Siddipet, Harish Rao’s fiefdom. TRS senior leader Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy is contesting from here. He seems to have good chances of winning this time.
TRS would hope to win maximum seats from these ten, plus the two Lok Sabha seats of the area and hence today’s KCR tour will be very important for the candidates and also the party.
