Telangana Chief Minister announced that the new district Siddipet would be developed on all fronts and sanctioned Rs 100 crore immediately for the works to be taken up. Addressing a huge public gathering at the Ambedkar circle soon after the inauguration of new district this morning, he said a university and medical college will come up in the district.
“This is my birthplace. I represented this constituency six times. I started the Movement from this land. I won and today I got a rare opportunity of starting off the district. It is at this place I gave representation in 1983 to the then Chief Minister NT Rama Rao to make Siddipet a district. For different reasons, it has not materialized. Now, after the formation of the state, I got the chance to make this a district and launch it too.. Really, this is history and a red letter day in the history of the state. This will pave the way for the attainment of Golden Telangana” Mr Rao stated.
He asked minister Harish Rao who is also the local MLA to make the city into a wonderful place and transform it as the number one district in the state.
