Kiran Kumar Reddy announced resignation to the CM post, MLA’s post and to the Congress party at the Camp Office press meet just a while ago. Seemandhra leaders, ministers TG Venkatesh, Erasu Pratap Reddy, Kasu Krishna Reddy, Mahidhar Reddy, Partha Saradhi, Shailaja Nath, Pitani Venkata Ramana, Veerashiva Reddy and a few MLA’s and MLC’s were seen in the press meet showing their support to Kiran Reddy. Kiran refused to talk about his political future as of now. He said his concern was with the future and welfare of Telugu people – read Seemandhra people. He blurted out that without his serious efforts, Telangana would have become a reality at least four months ago. He targeted the Congress high command right from the start of his brief address. His tone was also entirely defiant and insulting the decision of Congress central leadership. He ridiculed the Prime Minister also at a stage, saying his display of anguish on Parliament’s disturbances were nothing in front of the heartburn of the telugu public.
He repeated his claims of Seemandhra difficulties in different sectors, the same he had been saying all along. He is not willing to continue as the interim CM, he clarified.
Yesterday, Lagadapati RajaGopal, who announced openly that he will be backing Kiran’s future party, declared his retirement from active politics. Today, Kiran chose not to comment on his future plans. Suddenly the Samaikya party announcement seems hanging in loose air.
