On Saturday in Nizamabad R Krishnaiah who is a BC Welfare Association national president attended a meeting where he was invited as a chief guest at the BC students ‘Shankhaaravam’ meeting there he alleged that political parties were treating BCs as a mere vote bank during elections and later ignoring their welfare.
Krishnaiah angrily said that “the TRS government had even failed to launch the Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana (FAST) scheme,” after coming to power seven months ago.
“We will exert pressure on state government to launch FAST scheme as early as possible,” he added. He expressed anguish that students are facing difficulties as the state government failed to release Rs 850 crore dues towards fee reimbursement scheme. He stated that series of dharnas will be staged and state-wide bandh will be called very soon demanding the government to release pending fee reimbursement dues.
