Teleangana will be made open-defacation free state in a span of three years from now, according to minister of municipal affairs KT Rama Rao. “We have given an assurance to the government of India that our state will be made clean and open-defacation free by Gandhi Jayanthi i.e. October 2, 2019. All the municipalities and thousands of villages will be provided with public toilets, preferably green-filed, by that time” he told media after making a presentation in the Swachch Bharat Meet held in New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today.
Detailing steps taken by the state government, he said- the drive has already been on. 17 towns have already been turned defecation-free. The remaining will be done in phases. We will certainly achieve Swachch Telangana in three years. I am committed towards that end, he added.
