KTR’s posers made Tollywood biggies speechless

ktrSeveral Tollywood biggies found themselves in a piquant situation after minister KT Rama Rao taking them a ‘class’ on the development of film industry in Telangana. The cabinet sub-committee which held a meeting with the artistes, producers and directors recently on the issue, has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over the ‘attitude’ of the attendants.

Top sources confirmed that none of the participants from the industry has come prepared for the meeting and instead they have tried to push through personal agendas.  Ministers KTR, Talasani Srinivasa Yadav who were present in the meeting initially gave a patient hearing to the words of the industry heads. After listening to them, KTR, has asked them only one question- “I am ready to address your personal issues. I want to know  your suggestions for the development of the industry in Hyderabad”.  But none has any answer, it is learnt.

He has taken a snipe at the prominent people ‘for attending the meeting without any homework or concrete proposals’.  “I understand that you don’t talk among yourself. You don’t have any plan of action for the overall development. I will materialize all that you desired.  I will go to Chief Minister straight from here and get them sanctioned. Can you, in return, assure me that the industry would remain in Hyderabad and become even more bigger and powerful than Mumbai? What are your suggestions to ensure film industry remain in Hyderabad and get more modern-looking?” he asked.

When a director raised the issue of just four people controlling the industry and requested Government’s intervention to break the monopoly, KTR scoffed at him saying- ‘this is not a place for scoring some points and discussing petty issues” .

“It is more than forty years since the industry has shifted from Chennai to Hyderabad. What are our achievements? What needs to be done further” he asked.

Top directors, including a veteran director who always “fights for the cause of the industry” could not say anything and remain mum, sources said.

I would like to see film industry flourish in Hyderabad. We are planning a big film city as well. If you cooperate with us, we can take it forward. Let us work together. Next time, when I meet you, I would like to have a report from you with novel suggestions” KTR stated according to sources.
