IT and Industries minister KT Rama Rao has begun his US tour to attract investments in the core sectors in Washington. After meeting the India’s ambassador to US Mr Tarunjeet Singh Sandhu, he also met Katherine B Hadda, US’s Consul General in Hyderabad later.
Later Mr Rao had a 45-minute meeting with Bertrand-Marc (Marc) Allen, President of Boeing International and discussed on the facilities that are being provided at the Aerospace City in Hyderabad. They also exchanged views on giving training to youth on skill development.
Mr Rao has focussed on investments in Pharma sector. He met with the representatives of United States Environmental Protection Agency and discussed the ways and means to curb pollution in Hyderabad. He elicited their views on the international standards that can be implemented. The idea of shifting the Pharma companies out of the city i.e. out of Outer Ring Road. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has come forward to prepare guidelines for the Telangana government .
KTR has interacted in wider session with the heads of leading US pharma companies- Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Alexon, Merck, Amgen and discussed on the ways to bring the best practices and research to Hyderabad. People involved in the pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America were also in the meeting.
Mr Rao explained to them the salient features of TS government’s path-breaking TS-iPASS policy as well as Pharma policy.
The minister has also closeted with the top executives of Cleveland Motor Cycle Work Company. And urged Jonathan, company’s CEO to consider setting up of manufacturing unit in Telangana and assured full support from government side.
Mr Rao has also met Mr Ram Reddy, Chief of Communiclic and another top entrepreneur and key person in charge of holding Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 – Mr Tom Lerssten .
He urged Mr Tom to ensure conduct of the summit in Hyderabad which could be an ideal location..
