There were reports that the ambitious scheme of K Chandrasekhara Rao named ‘Kalyana Lakshmi’ has got very less receivers in the first two months, the other pet scheme of Chief Minister titled ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ has been receiving overwhelming response from various places of the Old City of Hyderabad.
Long queues of applicants were witnessed at several branches of State Bank of India across the Old City.
The scheme offers a financial assistance of Rs. 51,000 to the minorities to perform marriage of girls. The applicants have to submit income certificate, caste certificate, birth certificate, Aadhaar Cards of bride and groom (if available), scan copy of first page of bank pass book and invitation card along with the application form. Families with total annual income of less than Rs. 2 Lakh per annum are eligible to apply.
Applicants can also avail facility of online service ‘Mee Seva’ to forward the application, or else, they can also submit applications directly at DMWO or DE (APMFC) of the respective district.
