Look out notice to Mallya was a mistake says CBI

Vijay Mallya--621x414The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is facing heat over allowing beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya to go abroad said that the first look-out notice to him was issued by mistake.”Detention order issued against Vijay Mallya by CBI was an error by a lower level officer.” The CBI was accused of changing the nature of look-out notice against Mallya within one month of issuance from seeking his detention while leaving the country to that merely providing information about his travel plans. The information came as further embarrassment to the agency which has been accused of going soft on Mallya, facing a CBI probe for defaulting on repayment of a loan of Rs 900 crore taken from IDBI. Reportedly, CBI had knowledge about Vijay Mallya leaving the country on March 2, but did not intervene because there was no arrest warrant.
