Lorry owners call off stir

LORRYAll the lorries will be back on the roads today as their strike was called off by the lorry owners’ association following their meeting with the ministers. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and Transport Minister Mahender Reddy after a meeting with the lorry managements unions at secretariat today agreed to their demands. The lorry owners demanded for reduction the tax in the 10 districts. They also demanded that tax would be paid in two installments. Following an assurance from the ministers the lorry unions called off their stir. Over 2.27 lakh lorries paralyzed the transport of goods in TS as  they went off the roads on Wednesday.
