Loss of revenue Rs 3K cr: TS tells Centre

2000-nTelangana government has informed the Centre that it would lose around Rs 3000 crore in the remaining months of this financial year due to demonetization of currency of higher denomination. Chief Secretary of the government Rajiv Sharma while briefing the visiting central government team on the revenue loss, said IT, excise, transport, real estate, stamps and registration and commercial tax departments are the biggest losers.
Senior officers Pradip Chandra, Ajay Mishra have explained to the Central team in-charge Reddi Subramanyam the department-wise loss. Some of the highlights of the state government presentation:
· Daily loss of registration department Rs 23 crore

· From December to March Rs 100 crore daily loss expected

· Excise loss is put at Rs 50 crore daily- Rs 450 cr for next four months

· Transport sector losses nearly Rs 90 crore daily

· Several poor people have lost livelihood

· Construction sector labour have been bearing the brunt

· Small and mediam level farmers are also hit

· Special assistance to the state sought

· CST arrears shall be released immediately

· Exemption to ryots to buy inputs from Markfed and other agencies with old notes

· Last date for payment arrears shall be extended beyond Nov 24

· State government employees shall be paid Rs 10,000 in advance

· New Rs 500/ note shall be in full circulation

· More currency shall be sent to rural areas which are widely affected

· No pensioner shall suffer
