Maggie ban remains: FSSA

maggi-main3The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has made clear that ban imposed on June 5, on sale of Maggie is still in force as it contained harmful material to a dangerous level. FSSA has struck down the reports of certificates issued by several labs affiliated to Maggie. The FSSA also stated that no clean chit has been given to the company as the product contained lead to the extent of 10 units in place of 2.5 PPM units. On the other, FDL in Goa and CFTR in Mysore made clear that Maggie did not contain harmful chemicals and that noodles can be consumed. Nestle pointed out that tests conducted in UK and Singapore declared it as safe. However, FSSA maintained that so far Nestle has not submitted any such test reports.
