Maneka wants women cops

unnamed (2)Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Sanjay Gandhi requested the members of Consultative Committee of Parliament to persuade their State Governments to give 33 percent reservations to women in police force to control crimes against women.  She briefed about Health phone initiative, One Stop Centre for women affected by violence, appointing Special Police Officers (SPOs) in villages to curtail crime against women and initiatives under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. MPs Pratima Mondal, Viplove Thakur, R Vanaroja, Kanak Lata Singh, Priyanka Singh Rawat and Bimla Kashyap Sood participated in the meeting.
