Medaram Jatara ends peacefully

mugisina-medaramAn estimated 1.40 crore devotees have visited Medaram, in Warangal district and offered prayers as the three-day fete came to an end this evening. The goddesses- Sammakka and Saralamma have entered the dense forests- called as Vana Pravesham. The tribal festival is rated as biggest in South India and also second biggest fete after the Kumbh Mela. Telangana government has made elaborate arrangements for the Jatara and police have ensured smooth passage of inflow. The next jatara would be held in 2018
