Mercedes-Benz India’s website has a new page for the CLA 45 AMG, the next AMG launch in India. Interestingly, the website no longer shows the C 63 AMG, leaving the E 63 and CLA 45 the only ‘Saloons’ in the AMG section.
Say goodbye to the old visual conventions: the CLA 45 AMG breaks all the rules – not just those governing the traditional concept of beauty. The proud radiator grille, the profile charged with energy and the honed spoiler lip combine to create an exceptional form with breathtakingly low wind resistance. Engine technology refined and concentrated to the maximum allows the CLA 45 AMG to reconcile effortlessly superior performance with restrained fuel consumption. The interior also breaks with the conventional idea of a sedan with sporty, contrasting appointments and avantgarde design options. The CLA 45 AMG sets out to challenge the known ideas of taste and design. Is it a challenge you’re ready to take up?
Power for the CLA 45 comes from a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing 355 hp and 450 Nm of torque, thus making this motor the world’s most powerful series production four-cylinder engine. Mercedes claims the CLA 45 will do 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and hit a top-speed of 250 km/h.
The CLA 45 uses a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission and Merc’s 4MATIC system to send power to all wheels. Other features include an AMG sports steering wheel and gearlever, carbon-trimmed interior, three-stage ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist and aerodynamic bumpers with carbon-fiber trims.
When launched in India, the CLA 45 will be the most affordable AMG model in the country. The car will be sold as a CBU (Completely Built up Unit). In Europe, the CLA 45 is priced at 47,600 euros (INR 38.8 lakhs).
