Micromax, now it occupies the Top position in the mobile sector in India. It managed to surpass Samsung by capturing 17 % market share in terms of overall handset shipments in April-June, 2014 period.
At present Samsung stands in number two which had the market share of 14.4 %. In the case of Smart phones Korean firm is still number one in the smartphone category, which is the high margin segment.
Samsung’s share in the smartphones category market share of 25.3 per cent in Q2 where as Micromax had 19 per cent.
Micromax now not only stands number one, but also became the leading feature phone supplier overtaking Nokia for the first time. Its market share was 15.2 percent in feature phone category against 14.7 percent of Nokia in Q2. Samsung was at fourth position with a marketshare of 8.5 per cent.
Now the time running well for Micromax as it jumped the rankings and occupies the position of tenth largest handset brand in terms of mobile phone shipment volumes.
Micromax managed to widened the gap with the third largest smartphone player. It faced the real competition from Karbonn, Motorola, Celkon, Nokia, Apple and Sony. Even though withstanding to the tough competition now Micromax stood up high in Rankings and emerged to the Top postion in the mobile market.
