Mini-Japan in Modi’s Gujarat


A Mini-Japan would emerge in Gujarat soon as Modi’s love for Japan continues even after he became the Prime Minister. A ample movement of population from Japan to Gujarat may occur in the next five years as a number of industrial projects have been launched.

The Japanese MSME industrial park coveing 120 hectare at Vitthalpur village is coming up soon, being developed by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). Infrastructure development works worth Rs 158 has begun by GIDC to facilitate the park.

the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will undertake undertake modernization of the Alang ship-breaking yard at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore.

Japan’s big corporate like Suzuki Motors, Honda Motors, Hitachi and several others are soon to set shop in Gujarat.

The Gujarat government has asked a soft loan of Rs 5,968 Crore to the Centre from JICA for the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro project which is likely to earn a positive response.
