‘Mission Kakatiya’ Aims to Complete Tenders by December 15

In Warangal, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao initiative ‘Mission Kakatiya’ aimed at desiltation and restoration of tanks, would bring world-wide glory to Warangal.

He told officials to complete the task of calling tenders by Dec 15 and to demolish all the illegal structures which came up within the boundaries of the tanks.

On Tuesday, meeting on Mission Kakatiya held at Kakatiya Medical College campus Minister said that “Care would be taken to keep way the possible political interferences to stop the demolitions”.

He said Rs 2,000 crore was earmarked this year for the project. It was planned to spend Rs 20,000 crore during the next 5 years for the revival of tanks across the state.

Uma Bharti the Union Minister for Water Resources was invited to launch the program along with CM in January, 2015. The work to be completed by May so that the tanks would be ready by the time of arrival of monsoon, he said.

Engineer should work responsibly and with complete dedication, the Minister said and he cautioned all the officials should be available locally otherwise they would have to face the punishment. Then the Minister inaugurated a 5000 metric ton capacity cold storage unit and a canteen at Enumamula Agricultural Market in Warangal.
