Modi Addresses Teachers, Said a Teacher Never Retires


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the teachers of the nation on the eve of Teacher’s day on September 5. PM Modi said that the teacher hold great importance in the life of students.

Modi was addressing to the teachers who would be honoured with a national award for teaching by President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday. Modi said “teaching” is not a profession or job, but a way of life – “jeevan dharm”.

“I always wished to call all the teachers who have taught me since childhood. For any child, teachers hold great importance…After becoming the chief minister, I called and honoured them,” said Modi.

He also added that a teacher never retires and always continues to make an effort to teach the new generation.

He said that the teachers must be a stop ahead of time in order to develop the society.
