PM Designate Narendra Modi has already started the familiarization exercises with the important machinaries of the central government. It is learnt that he has had a 45 minute meeting with MHA Secretary Anil Goswami on Monday. Who has called for the out of ordinary meeting has not been revealed. But the Home Secretary is known to have explained the Border security situation, Internal security status, new measures and laws being planned, Kashmir and the special issue of Telangana formation.
The Home Secretary left the place with a feeling that the PM designate has full understanding of the issue and has offered opinions and suggestions along with a detailed report in another week, sources say. Modi is learned to have declared that he wants to ensure zero infiltration along the Bangladesh border in the next five years. The issue of Naxals and the parallel government run by them in Chattisgarh and other place is also to be dealt with seriously. The parallel governments have to go, measures needed are to be charted out, declared Modi to Goswami, say sources.
The security status in Kashmir, discussions with Naga separatists are also touched upon in the meeting. The other major issue that took Modi’s attention was of the Andhra Pradesh bifurcation, say MHA sources. He has specifically asked about the division of IAS, IPS officers, other employee division, as the date of division is nearing. The issue of Seemandhra compensation is also to be worked fast, suggested the PM designate.
Goswami is told to come back with a detailed report on all issues within a week, as per sources.
