Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Summit in Paris. Vikas Swarup, spokesperson of External Affairs Ministry, tweeted a photo of the two leaders shaking hands at Conference of the Parties 21 (COP21). etails about what the prime ministers of the two neighbouring countries discussed is yet to be revealed as television channels showed the leaders engaged in an intense discussion. The brief interaction, which was the first between the two leaders since July 2015 Ufa Summit, has come at a time when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is awaiting the government’s nod for a bilateral cricket series with Pakistan.
Sources said that while the BCCI is keen on playing arch rivals Pakistan on a neutral venue, the government is yet to take a final decision in this regard.A couple of days ago Nawaz Sharif had said that Pakistan is ready for dialogue with India without preconditions. Sharif said that Pakistan intends to maintain friendly relations with all its neighbours, including India and Afghanistan.
