Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on Sunday offered prayers at Jagannadh temple, Puri in Odisha. He was allowed inside the sanctum sanctorum although it was banned for common devotees due to conservation works of the 12-century structure. He spent 20 minutes there, paid his obeisance to the sibling deities of jagannadh, Balabhdra and Subhadra. He was offered a painting of sand art of the deity by Sudarshan Patnaik, internationally-acclaimed sand artist, outside the shrine.
Earlier he inaugurated the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) campus at Jatni and oil refinery at Paradip. Modi urged the students to make NISER, the greenest campus in the country.Modi advocated for development of scientific temper among school students.
