India has assured Nepal that it would accord full cooperation to the Himalayan nation which had been reeling under the impact of the killer earth quake, which claimed the lives of thousands of people and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee spoke to their Nepalese counterparts Sushil Koirala and Ram Bharas respectively to express their solidarity with them stating that the “ operation maithri ‘ would continue till Nepal fully recovered from the deadly impact under the quake.
Meanwhile, several countries vied with each other to extend aid and support to the quake-hit nation. US had already sanctioned $ 10 lakhs while Australia gave $ 5 lakhs. China sent its men and material to Nepal to organise relief and rehabilitation camps.
America, Briton, China, Pakistan, EU countries have come forward to give aid to Nepal. The response has been good. Even international charity societies like Red Cross Christian Aid sent their teams to help restore normalcy by clearing the debris and stand by the quake victims.
India sent drugs, tents, blankets, drinking water, food packets in 13 military planes apart from mobile hospitals. National disaster management despatched 700 men to conduct relief steps. Rs 50 crore aid was announced by Modi government. Madhya Pradesh government also announced Rs 5 crore help.
