BJP leader Altaf Thakur said that, “I am very happy that Modiji has come to celebrate Diwali with us. It’s a great gesture and we welcome it. Only he can improve situation in Kashmir and do something for the flood-affected”.
This is the PM’s fourth visit to the state since he came to power in May this year.
All the political parties except Congress are scheduled to visit Modi at Raj Bhawan today afternoon.
Senior Congress leader and MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga told that, “We are not meeting the prime minister. We were asked, but we have decided not to meet”.
PDP spokesman Naeem Akhtar said that, “Relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people are high on agenda. The prime minister should get a first-hand account what winter means in Kashmir”.
