Modi’s ‘Clean India’ project to cost Rs 2 Lakh Crore

Venkaiah-NaiduThe Modi Government plans to spend Rs 2 Lakh Crore in the next five years for ‘Clean India’ project. Clean India is a pet concept of Narendra Modi who aims at making India a clean nation on the terms of Japan and other developed nations.

The campaign is to be launched on the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on October 2. The day, otherwise holiday, has been announced to be a working day for all central government employees.

Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday unveiled the Centre’s plan for the campaign.

the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation will spend Rs 1 Lakh 34 thousand Crore for the program while the Urban Development Ministry plans to spend 62,000 Crore to clean towns across the country.

“We have a plan to approach icons from various fields. Because the prime minister desires that this should become a people’s movement”, said the Union Minster for Urban Development.

“…We have requested Ramakrishna Mission, Patanjali Yoga Peeth of Baba Ram Dev, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Gayatri Parivar, and we have also contacted various maths including Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth, Siddha Ganga Math in Karnataka,” said Venkaiah Naidu.
