MV Kamath took his last breath today

Madhav-Vittal-KamathMadhav Vittal Kamath, popularly known as MV Kamath, former chairman of Prasar Bharati and veteran journalist took his last breath at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal on Thursday. He died at the age of 93.

Kamath was the editor of Illustrated Weekly of India and was also the Washington correspondent of the Times of India from 1969 to 1978.

Dr (Col) M Dayananda, medical superintendent and COO, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, said that, “He died of cardiac arrest at 7.30am. He was suffering from spondylosis for some time”.

The funeral will be held today in the evening.

Dr Pai said that, “Kamath was greatly responsible for the growth of the Manipal University, which is today among the best communication schools in the country. He will be missed by every single student and faculty alike”.
