ESL Narasimhan, who is common governor of Telugu states, has discussed the issue of handing the blocks that are under AP’s control over to Telangana government. The governor, who went to Vijayawada to participate in the police commemoration programme, has closeted with AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for over an hour at Gateway Hotel and asked his view whether AP is ready to leave the buildings to Telangana. Naidu reportedly replied that the issue will be discussed in cabinet first and he cannot give an immediate assurance on it. ‘I am against any sort of friction with Telangana. We have just shifted to Velagapudi. More issues have to be thrashed out” he said.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has a couple of days back met Governor and sought his good offices to prevail upon AP to hand over the buildings to them. Governor has immediately swung into action and broached the topic with Naidu.
L, H and J blocks are with AP but most of them are now empty.
Telangana wants to renovate the entire secretariat with Rs 350 crore. Some of the blocks will be razed to ground as per vastu suggestions, it is learnt.
