In a statement which would surely surprise the readers, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, said that drought was not the only reason for famers’ suicide, but also their love failures had led them to take the extreme step.
Speaking during a discussion in the AP assembly, the Chief Minister surprised many with his controversial statement. “Farmer suicides are not only due to drought, but also due to mounting debts and subsequent family pressures and love failures among young farmers.”
During the discussion be chose to follow the footsteps of the TRS government in Telangana by blaming the previous governments for the suicides. “The TD government is only seven months old. But we should also talk about who created this problem. It is because of the Congress rule.” Mr. Naidu alleged.
Earlier during the session of the TS assembly KCR had also blamed the previous governments for the prevailing situation.
But Naidu assured to end the drought situation and make the state drought free. He expressed his plans to divert the Godavari waters to the Krishna delta and Srisailam water to Rayalaseema.
“About 3,000 TMC of Godavari water is going to waste into the sea. The Krishna River is not perennial. The TD government will solve the drought problem in five years,” he said
