AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi has met President Pranab Mukherjee and complained on the ‘lawlessness’ in Delhi. He sought President’s intervention to “restrain Modi-led government from bulldozing the democratic spirit”
He that the “RSS is trying to impose “flawed” ideology on students of nation and we won’t let that happen”.
“This nation will prosper because of our student’s imagination, imposing an ideology on them will not benefit the nation,” he reporters outside Rashtrapathi Bhavan. He disclosed that he complained on the events that led to the row at JNU and the alleged targeting of students in various parts of the country.
“If anyone is involved in anti-national activities, he should be punished but nationalism can’t be an excuse to impose a particular ideology on students, Rahul said.
“Nationalism is in my blood. I have seen my family making sacrifices again and again for this country,” he said.
“Recent incidents are damaging India’s image, that is why Congress has approached the President of India,” he said.
