Navi Pillay to be replaced by Jordan’s Hussein as UNHR Commissioner

South African national, Indian descendant Navaneetham Pillay who has been the United Nations Human Rights Commissioner from 2008, will now be replaced by Jordan’s UN envoy Prince Zeid al Hussein, announced UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. This will be the first time that a person from the Middle East will be occupying the post. His term will be for four years.
