New height to Indo-US ties with ‘Chalein Sath Sath’

New-heightIndia and US attempted to forget the past individual histories and institutional squabbles with the official meeting of the heads of the world’s two largest democracies.

Everybody was surprised when President Barack Obama greeted PM Modi in Gujarati language on the portals of the White House.

India and the United States strengthened ties along the lines of security partnership to address the threat of terrorism. Both the nations decided to take the Defence and Space cooperation to the next level.

The two nations also announced a joint Mars Mission.

Obama raised voice in support of India to gain membership of Nuclear Suppliers Group and the Missile Technology Control Regime.

Obama also agreed to help India in gaining membership of UN Security Council.

US would also help India in developing three smart cities, Allahabad, Ajmer, and Vishakapatnam.

Barack Obama and Modi also wrote a joint editorial published in Washington Post. The joint editorial was headlined ‘Chalein Saath Saath’.

“The true potential of our relationship has yet to be fully realized. The advent of a new government in India is a natural opportunity to broaden and deepen our relationship. With a reinvigorated level of ambition and greater confidence, we can go beyond modest and conventional goals. It is time to set a new agenda, one that realizes concrete benefits for our citizens”, Modi and Obama wrote together in the joint editorial.
