New Police Battalions To TS and AP

v6-betalianThe Union Ministry of Home Affairs has approved 8 new battalions of police, 4 each to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh approved to raise new battalions, two each for Telangana and AP this fiscal. One battalion each will be raised in the next two financial years. Under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, the Centre was mandated to assist the states to raise additional police force.Centre will reimburse a maximum amount of Rs 51.19 Crore per IRP battalion. The information was provided in an official release by the Union Home Ministry, which sayd, the reimbursement includes Rs. 26.19 Crore as 75 per cent of the standard of raising i.e. Rs 34.92 Crore and 50 per cent of the infrastructure cost (excluding cost of land) up to a maximum of Rs 25.00 Crore.
