The New Zealand, as predicted by many, is turning a tough nut to crack for Indian bowlers. On the first day of the first test, the hosts raced away to 329/4 as Indian pacers did not have any sting in their bowling. Kane Williamson and Brendon Mc Cullum (not out) raced of to prolific centuries with 113 and 143 respectively. They put up a double century partnership, added 221 in just 51 overs. Three wickets fell for Indian pacers early, after that all they could do was toil and try. Veteran pacer Zaheer claimed two and Ishant too took two wickets. Shami was economical but failed to pick any scalps.
Earlier, India had won the toss and elected to bowl. The New Zealand would look to take their score past five hundred tomorrow and India have the task of dismissing the centurion Mc Cullum and limit the score.
