No Cow Slaughtering on Bakrid Warned City Police


Hyderabad police have warned that initiating action would be taking against those who indulge in violating the AP Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act during Bakrid celebrations.

An official states that, “It is strictly prohibited to sell cows, she buffaloes and calves (calf), which is a crime under the AP Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act 1977”.

It futher states that, “If anyone violates the rules by selling these animals for slaughtering purpose to abattoirs, they may be punished as per law”.

During the Bakrid festival season police have instructed organizers/management of the slaughter houses to sell only bullock/ox at their premises.

On Thursday police officials held meeting with the management/organisers of the slaughter houses at Langer-House, Golconda, Musheerabad and Nampally areas.

The released said that during the meeting it came to light that cow, she buffaloes and bullock/ox are being sold during the Bakrid festival season.
