‘No Deeksha’ Rule for Cops

Kamalasan-ReddyA circular by Telangana government to police personnel not to wear tradition black attire while taking up Ayyappa deeksha (penance period) on Nov 25, principally many of them seem to pay no heed to the diktat and continue to be clad in the conspicuous black robes and sporting beard.

Cops under Osmania University police station extremity were seen on two cones Kanduvas’, walking unshod on duty.

“Concede to the circular, the cops can take leave if they observe ‘Ayyappa deeksha’. They will not be allowed to wear black dress and grow their beard and hair while on duty.” Said by DCP (Central) Kamalasan Reddy.

Though other zones have not promulgated the anotation so far this year, Kamalasan Reddy has circulated it in his zone and instructed not to entertain applications for permission of wearing black clothes.
