ganeshThe high court suggested for immersion of idols in other tanks and lakes in the city while banning the Ganesha Nimajjanam in Hussainsagar this year. Meanwhile, the current issue has antagonized the traditionists. They said it is against the traditions to immerse idols in artificial lakes. The court has ordered the TS government and GHMC to submit a report on the possibilities of halting immersion of idols of Lord Ganesha in Hussiansagar tank. The court also ordered the GHMC to study the Bangalore pattern of immersion of Ganesha idols. The GHMC advocate informed the court that they had already found in Bangalore the height of the idols was six to eight feet and that it is difficult to follow their model.
