No increase in Maximum Age Limit: Uniformed Services

No-increase-in-Maximum-Age-In September, the Andhra Pradesh Government had issued orders to enhance the maximum age limit from 34 years to 40 years for the state government recruitment exams. The retirement age is declared as 58 years.

In June last year soon after coming to power, though the TD govt in AP had raised the retirement age from 58 to 60 years, TS government had refused to follow suit. If the age limit is increased from 38 to 40 years in TS, Selected candidates will be left with only 18 years of service. And candidates from reserved categories will get another five years relaxation.

Only for non-uniform services this maximum age limit is applicable. For uniformed services like police, excise, fire, prisons, forest departments etc., there will be no increase in the maximum age limit.

From March, KCR speeded up the process to make the newly-constituted Telangana State Public Service Commission fully functional. And has given nod to issue the TSPSC’s first notification to fill over 150 engineer posts in the Rural Water Supply Department. Before notification release they want to include maximum age limit to 40 years. The TSPSC is making arrangements to issue the job notification soon.
