No Reservation for Jain Community TS

Jain-CommunityIn April 2014 The Jain community was given minority status and included in the AP Minority Commission in undivided AP.

Withal, The Jain community does not get reservations in educational institutions or state jobs. As majority of the Jains are economically strong that is the reason community members are not eligible for scholarships on the ground. The minority status is useful only to set up minority educational institutions.

There are around 2.5 lakh Jains in Telangana and around 3 lakh in AP. “Minority welfare schemes are extended to our community, we are unable to get caste certificates. Complaints to the MRO have gone in vain, we have complained to the collector as well,” said Mr A. Gautham Jain, member of the minority commission.
