The Centre finally opened its mouth on the ongoing controversy of renaming the domestic terminal of Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport located at Shamsabad after the late CM NT Rama Rao.
Nirmala Seetharam, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs on Wednesday stated in Rajya Sabha that the Centre was only restoring the late TDP founder’s name, which was dropped by Congress. She mentioned it clear that the name of the late Prime Minister would continue for the international terminal of the airport.
Ashok Gajapati Raju, Union Civil Aviation Minister also stated the same while speaking to the media persons outside the Parliament House. He added that in the old Begumpet airport, the names of both the leaders, Rajiv Gandhi and NT Rama Rao were existed.
