Notice to Airtel

Airtel-4G-300x172Advertising Standards Council of India issued notices to Airtel to revoke its 4G campaign ‘ unlimited movies, unlimited calls, unlimited music, unlimited data’. The council found fault with the mobile
company over the advertisement and reviewed it following a complaint
from a customer. The council stated that Airtel’s campaign was crossing the limits of announcements code chapter 1.4, according to
rules. But the Airtel management clarified they found after verification that 4G is the fastest network in the country and only then they had started the campaign. It also decided to appeal to the council to examine their directive. Further, Airtel began the said
campaign as its rival Reliance was preparing the grounds to launch 4G
mobile network.
