No-Shave November is embraced by a lot of men already, but some are more than willing to ditch the shaving implements for a few weeks if it’s for a good cause.
The concept behind the non-profit movement is to abandon the razor for the entire month of November. Then donate the money you would have spent on shaving to a cancer-related cause.
The organisations behind this unique campaign are the American Cancer Society, Prevent Cancer Foundation and Fight Colo-rectal Cancer. The campaign which began on November 1, 2009 is in its seventh year now. What started with just 50 members is now a gigantic organisation thanks to social media.
The group’s website reads, “The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.”
