Now a tennis Premier League!


The cricket IPL has been a money spinner and also a controversy creator since inception. It has spawned a Hockey league tourney, football league and now, news is that a Tennis league is about to be born. Planned and to be executed by Mahesh Bhupati, a grand slam veteran with 12 titles so far, Mahesh is using his long experience in getting support from reputed players of the world. He is promising them huge moolah too! More than what has been offered the current IPL costliest player, Yuvraj Singh is offered. Yuvi was bought for 13.5 crores for the season. Mahesh is offering the Spanish bull, Rafael Nadal about 6 crores for just “one night” in the ITPL!

ITPL will happen during November and December at Hong Kong, Mumbai, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur between teams named after these cities. These five teams will pay 10$ million towards player fees apart from 12$ million for a 10 year term team ownership.

Mahesh Bhupati has partnered with several players and managers like  Justin Gimelstob, Boris Becker and Benito Perez-Barbadillo, and Morgan Menahem to make this tourney a success. Major players, who have been world no. 1 rank holders or grand slam winners can choose their appearances other players will remain through the three week tourney period.

Rafael Nadal, Stanislas Wawrinka, Tomas Berdych, Richard Gasquet, Agnieszka Radwanska, Victoria Azarenka, Caroline Wozniacki have confirmed participation while Djokovic, Murray and Serena are hoped to join soon.
