The Google Glass has been hailed as a magical tool with applications in wide ranging areas from military, wild life protection, medicine and several others. Now, with the addition of a new app, the Glass is getting the abilities to read minds! Yes, the extra sensory perception sort of powers are being accorded to this tool from Google and the designers are hoping that the innovation will give better life to persons with serious motor disabilities, those who cannot speak and to those who have mental disorders.
Coupled with a brain activity monitoring device – Neurosky EEG biosensor, the app known as MindRDR, developed by start up ThisPlace, the user can photograph visuals just by concentrating on them. By reading the neural activity of the brain when it seriously focuses on some thing, the app will convert them in to actions and will capture the image. The app will also allow them to be posted on any social media platform, again just by concentrating!
“Google Glass is one of the world’s most recognizable and popular pieces of wearable technology, but after getting our hands on it, we saw huge potential to incorporate EEG technology so it benefits the wider society, We wanted to realize the true potential of Glass by allowing users to control it with their minds,” said Dusan Hamlin, CEO of the app developer company “This Place.”
