NTPC is proposing entry into coal mining with the aim to meet the fuel requirements of its stations. Arup Roy Choudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC said, “Super critical technology is knocking at our door, and we must be the first to implement it. The key to future growth of the company lies in forward and backward integration to sustain its position as the biggest generator in the country along with steady capacity addition”.
He was addressing to the employees on the ‘NTPC Rising Day’ through a webcast.
Mr. Choudhary also declared that NTPC would soon start working on a 4,000 MW project for Telangana. “The Telangana government has identified the land required for the project and the NTPC Board have recently approved the feasibility report for the project”, said the Chairman.
NTPC is also set to establish 4,000 MW Pudimadaka Super Thermal Power Project near Anakapalli and a 1,000 MW Solar Power Projects in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh, announced Mr. Choudhary.
