NTPC Exceeds the Set Target

NTPCProduction of power was suspended for various reasons in its different units in the last few months. Despite there are frequent outages in one or the other unit in NTPC it generated 9,631.43 million units from April 1, 2014 till date and it exceeded the target fixed for the period which was 9,576 million units. In the previous financial year to the corporation performed really well.
The outages which the power station witnesses are due to technical snags to boilers of its units. Recently, there was overhauling of unit-6 and it took 34 days for the same. At that time the power generation at Unit-5 and Unit-7 was suspended due to major repair. The plant load factor also exceeded the target.
According to sources, the corporation registered shutdown of one or the other units for 25 times between April and August, due to unavailability of coal, force outages and annual overhaul.
In spite of all the station recorded 84.34 per cent of plant load factor (PLF) as against its target of 83.86 .The Highest generation of power was 63.577 MU at a PLF of 101.9 pc on April 6, 2013.
