Days, months and years rolled by and twenty years passed by since the movie actor turned chief minister left his mortal remains. That great person was none other than N.T. Rama Rao. NTR the pride of Telugu people was called ‘brother’ affectionately by crores of fans. He was a versatile personality as a movie artist and a politician in office. As a movie artist he portrayed the mythological roles of Rama and Krishna and a rickshawala in social movies with equal ease which surprised many a director. He had also a great talent for direction and script writing and a keen sense of music. In politics, he was the rare of the rarest in good conduct. As chief minister he kept his family members at arm’s length to state secretariat who had no political or party office. He did not touch a square inch of government land but acquired all his properties with the sweat of toil when he was a film actor. N.T. Rama Rao may not be physically present today, but his spirit pervades in his selfless works. His fans recollect his memory with a tearful eye today.
