Facing a huge first innings total of 557 runs, the New Zealanders were 125 for the loss of one wicket in their opening innings in the third test at Indore. Martin Guptill was unbeaten on 59 and Kane Williamson on 3 when the break was taken. TWM Latham was out after scoring a useful 53 runs and put on a 100 runs first wicket partnership with Guptill.
Earlier India declared their first innings at 557 for 5 after a magnificent 211 by Captain Virat Kohli and 188 by Ajinkya Rahane and 51 by Rohit Sharma. The visitors were still 232 runs behind to avoid a follow on. India have already won the series 2-0
