Obama rules out troops to Iraq, offers advisers and “targeted action”

US President Barack Obama has today ruled out sending US ground troops to Iraq, but has assured tactical, advisory support along with “targeted and precise military action.” “American forces will not return to Iraq…. committing the kinds of blood and treasure that has already been expended in Iraq,” is ruled out, said Obama. He has offered the service of 300 military advisers immediately. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the other hand has said that unless there is a change in Iraqi leadership, US cannot commit on playing a role in present crisis.
